Paris Day 3

After our late night last night some of us got off to a late (rougher and later for some) start today. I never mentioned in the last blog that last night also included a very nervous moment when a dirty male prostitute tried to get Ryan to pay for his services. Very awkward and the language barrier didn't help...

Anyway, back to today. Eric and I started the day off with authentic chocolate pastries which were delicious. We found them in bakery at a small outdoor market by our hostel which was nice to walk around and get a real feel for an average person that lives around here. When everyone got up we headed off to the palace and gardens of Versailles. It was our first real encounter with rain since we've been very lucky so far. Even with the rain the place was huge and amazing and I can't fathom how it was actually used as someone's house. After thinking about how much it probably cost Loius XIV to build with taxpayer dollars I see why they killed him.

Walking around the property for a few hours we headed back into the city and to the Louvre again only this time we were going inside. Our main objective was clearly to get to our Mona Lisa on but after that some split and headed back while the rest of us walked around more of the museum. We were not dissapointed.

There were many really interesting exhibits and I could see spending a whole day there but we were exhausted and after a few we grabbed dinner and headed back.

It was a great day regardless of the weather and I really enjoyed Paris a lot. Early start tomorrow as we're off to Amsterdam so I'm off to bed.

Hope all is well with everyone at home!
